First Focus has released data showing that while Census Bureau numbers indicate that the number of uninsured children has increased at the national level, a state by state look at the insurance status of children reveals trends that are of even greater concern.<\/p>\n

Most states across the country saw rises in the percentage of children without coverage from 2005 to 2006, and even more saw rises in this percentage over the two year period from 2004 to 2006. All in all, a national trend of more and more children without insurance is happening in 39 states and the District of Columbia, where the percentage of children without insurance was higher in 2006 than it was in 2004.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
