Maxwell R. Rowshandel is the Senior Director of Health and Nutrition Policy Advocacy at First Focus on Children. Maxwell works on Medicaid, CHIP, and Public Health policy and leads the environmental health, nutrition, and technology portfolios.
Prior to joining First Focus, Maxwell worked at the local, state, and federal levels of U.S. Public Health. He previously worked as a Public Health Analyst and Presidential Management Fellow at the CDC and as a contact tracer and data manager for the Blue Ridge Health District in Charlottesville, Virginia during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Maxwell is originally from Fairfax County, Virginia and holds a B.S. in Nanomedicine Engineering from the University of Virginia as well as a Masters of Public Health from George Washington University’s Milken Institute of Public Health. He resides in DC with his cat, Fish, and is an avid espresso and public transportation enthusiast in his spare time.
